Swoon Thursday #35

Who doesn't love a good swoon?

The ladies over at YA Bound have created this hot and fun meme!
If you want to join in here's all you need to do.

From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling and your stomach fluttering?

Then pick a smaller portion of your swoon and tweet it, just don't forget to add the #YABOUND Hashtag to your tweet!

I have completely fallen in love with On the Island.  I honestly can't stop thinking about this book.  Anna and T.J. have wrapped themselves around my heart, and I don't see them being detached any time soon.  Their love story was slow, sweet, and passionate.  Honestly, if I can get anything across to you, it would be that you need to read this novel.  I have so much love for it.

You can read my spoiler free review of On the Island HERE

I had already scooped some of the breadfruit onto my fingers.  Without thinking, I held them out to her.  She stopped laughing, and looked at me like she wasn't quite sure what I meant.  I waited, and she leaned toward me and opened her mouth.  I slid my fingers inside, wondering if my eyes were as big as hers.  When she sucked the breadfruit off, my breathing got all messed up.

"More?"

She nodded just barely, and her breathing didn't sound right either.  I scooped up some breadfruit and this time, when I put my fingers in her mouth, she put her hand on my wrist.

I waited for her to swallow and then I lost my shit completely.

I grabbed her face with both hands, and I kissed her, hard.

I fell in love with Blythe and Chris... and this scene is SO hot.  Trust me when I say it gets even hotter, and you do not want to miss out on it.

You can read my spoiler free review of Left Drowning HERE.

Chris is walking toward me, strolling casually down the hall with his hands in his jeans pockets.  I'm unable to move until he finally looks up and sees me.

"Well, hey, you," he says with a smile.  He is tanned and excuciatingly gorgeous, and I nearly faint.  "What are you doing here?"

My chest is probably visibly heaving.  I drop the bucket and walk quickly toward him.  He's got to see how I am looking at him, how I am essentially in heat.  Chris meets me halfway, and I grab a fistful of his T-shirt in my hand and pull him in tight.  I lift my mouth up close to his.  "I need you," I say, each word deliberate and loaded.  I'm not sure, but I may have actually growled.  I keep him close as I back up and lead him to my door.

"Blythe, what are you doing?  I thought we agreed that we weren't... " But his hands are on my waist, then under the top of my leggings, he is following my steps without any protest.

I smile.  "Shut up."  I reach behind me and wave my key card.  The second I hear the door unlock, I slam down on the handle and take us into my room.

For those of you who loved Dean Holder before... let me just say that you will love him even more now.  You didn't think that was possible?  Well, I can guarantee you it is possible because the exact same thing happened to me.  I live Dean Holder.

I'm hoping she can't feel my heart pounding right now because every time she glances up at me when she flips a page, I squeeze my fists even tighter and try to keep my hands to myself but my resistance resonates in my pulse.  And it's not that I don't want to touch her.  I want to touch her and kiss her so bad it physically hurts.  I just don't want it to be insignificant to her.  When I touch her...I want her to feel it.  I want every single thing I say to her and every single thing I do to her to have significance.

oooOOOooohhh I loved this book SO much.  I have fallen in love with Lexi and Cole.  Their forbidden romance is just perfect.  Set in the backdrop of some of the most vile and disgusting conditions-you can't help but crave their happily ever after.

He curls his lip and tilts my face up.  He pulls me in with his eyes.  "You knew what?  That I would never leave you?"  He kisses the top of my head, then my forehead, and my head again.

My head explodes like a bomb.  I look up and he holds my gaze.  I know he can see my pain.

"Knew what?" he repeats.   He wraps his arms around me again, pulling me into him.  My nerves prevent me from speaking even though I should.  "Tell me."

"Even if it was only for a day, an hour, or a minute-I would risk everything just so I could be with you," I say.
His concerned face morphs into one of determination.  "Do you really mean that? Are you sure? Because if we get caught-"

"I know.  And yes, I'm sure.  When you were gone, all I could think about was you and I missed you so much it hurt."

"Shhh..."  he grips me closer to his body and then softly whispers in my ear, "I'm about to kiss you, and once I start I won't be able to stop.  Just thought I should warn you."

"What are you waiting for?"

Sebastian may very well be the sweetest guy... ever.  I have fallen in love with him.  I was cautious about starting The Education of... series because I didn't want to have my heart broken.  I knew going in what their obstacle was going to be, it is age.  Caroline is 30 and Sebastian is 17, about to turn 18.

I am only a quarter of  way through The Education of Caroline (which is book 2) and I am still unsure if there is going to be a happy ending.  There best be... because I simply love Sebastian.  He must have his happy ending.

"Are you cold?"

"No, not really.  Are you?"

He shook his head, a wide grin threatening to break out again.

"Are you going to stop smiling at any point?" I asked, amused.

"Nope, Shouldn't think so."

"Do you want to go for a walk?"

"A walk?"  He looked longingly at the back seat and I knew what he was thinking because I was thinking it, too.  But there was something else I wanted to do first.

"Yes, a walk: perambulation, a stroll, an amble, a short journey made on foot."

Oh.  That sort of walk.  Okay, I guess."

He half-fell out of the car and scooted around to open my door.

"My gallant knight."

"Your anything," he said seriously.  "But I want to be your everything."

Oh Sebastian.  You already are.

"I want to make love to you again," he said softly.

I absolutely fell in love with Leo, and now to be able to get his perspective in Leo's Chance? I was in my own heaven.  Leo really is one of the most passionate, and swoonworthy characters.  If you haven't read Leo, please do so before Leo's Chance, but trust me when I say you will not want to miss either of these.

I dip my head and settle my mouth on hers.  I sweep my tongue inside and as her tongue meets mine, I almost groan at the taste of her.  Heaven.  My heaven.

She whimpers and lifts her arms around my neck, pressing her soft body into mine.

I'm like a starving man who is finally sitting before a banquet table of the most delicious food on earth.   Ecstasy courses through my body as her tongue meets mine stroke for stroke.

I vaguely note that her hands are running through my hair and when I bring my hands down to cup her ass, she whimpers into my mouth and I can't help groaning back.  This is the second most incredible kiss of my life.   The first one was with the same girl.

This book was amazing.  I knew of course it was going to be great because it is Jennifer L. Armentrout and I have yet to read any of her books that were not amazing.  But I was even shocked how much I enjoyed this.  It will flip the way you have seen the Luxen and Arum, and have you second guessing everything.

And Hunter?  Complete *swoon*.  Loved him so much.

"So the DOD released the Luxen and they live like humans, but you all...?

"Not so much."  His arms circled me.  "We weren't treated the same.  I think they saw us as something lower than the Luxen, than them.  When they find us, we aren't given the option of playing human."

"That's not fair," I wispered.

"Life's rarely fair, sweetheart."  He slid his hands over my thighs as his lips brushed the curve of my jaw once more.  "We've always been seen as a weapon.  That's what we are."

"No."  Heat unfurled inside me, spreading sizzling shivers.  "You're more than a weapon, Hunter.  So much more."

"With you?" His voice was thick.  "I am more, but not with anyone else."

Okay, I am going to try to keep my complete fangirl moment to a minimum.  To say that I was over the friggin moon excited when Colleen Hoover sent me an early copy of Losing Hope... well excited just would not cover the emotions I was feeling.

Losing Hope was simply AMAZING.  It was everything I was hoping it would be, and so much more.  I have fallen in love all over again with Dean Holder.  There is so much that we never found out about him in Hopeless, and this is truly his story.  I have said it before and I will continue to say it... Coleen Hoover is a genius.  She amazes me over and over again with her books.

So, without further ado I give you one of my favorite scenes from Losing Hope.  We all know what this scene was like from Sky's perspective, and now here we get Dean's.  *swoon*

I place my palm over her heart, then pull her hand to my heart.  I lower my eyes to her level, making sure she's completely in this moment with me.  "Fuck all the firsts, Sky.  The only thing that matters to me with you are the forevers."

She releases a breath of relief, then completely kisses the hell out of me.  I grab her head and lower her back onto the bed, climbing on top of her.  "I love you," I say against her lips.  "I've loved you for so long but I just couldn't tell you.  It didn't feel right letting you love me back when I was keeping so much from you."

She's crying again, but she's also smiling.  "I don't think you could have picked a better time to tell me you loved me than tonight.  I'm happy you waited."

I dip my head and kiss her.  I kiss her like she deserves to be kissed.  I hold her like she deserves to be held.  And I'm about to make love to her like she deserves to be loved.

"I've never met anyone as quietly brave and strong as you.  I've never met a woman so unassuming, so kind, and so selfless.  You are a complex lady."  His mouth curled up at the corners.

"And you are smart, and passionate, and funny, and exciting, and you blow me fucking away.  When I first saw you, I wanted you like I'd never wanted anyone.  When you first tore me a new one, I wanted to know you.   And when I got to know you, when I stood across a kitchen and you told me not to kill a spider because it didn't' say much for us as a species if we killed something because we feared it, I knew.  I knew that I would never meet anyone as beautiful or as compassionate or as determined."

Brad can be my superhero any time he likes.  Honestly, if you have not yet bought yourself a copy of Love Love, what are you waiting for?  This was such an amazingly romantic, and touching story.  I simply fell in love with it, and I have no doubts that you will love it just as much.

He laces his fingers through mine and we walk around the platform a bit, enjoying the view, until something catches his eye.  When I look over to see what it is, I notice there's a plaque attached to a long piece of rock that reads This is a good kiss spot.

Catching me by surprise, Brad grabs me and pulls me close.  He threads his arms around the curve of my shoulders, causing my heart to pitter-patter wildly and my breath to come in giant gusts.  His breath is blowing on my lips like a soft breeze as he whispers, "I've been wondering something all night."  My eyes go wide.  "Have you ever been kissed by a superhero before?"  My mouth won't move, so I simply shake my head back and forth.  His eyes are burning up my lips as he breathes, "because you've never been truly kissed until you've been kissed by a superhero."

With a small gasp and a hoarse voice, I strangle out a reply.  "Will it be life-changing?"

He dangles his lips over mine.  "Oh yes, life as you know it will never be the same."

He reached up and put his fingers under my chin, bringing my face forward again, forcing me to look at him.  "Beautiful, sad, wounded, and lost," he continued.  "A freak, a work of art, a liar, and a lover."

His gaze was starting to eat away at my insides.  Razor-blade butterflies whirled in my heart.

"I hate you, Ellie Watt," he whispered, lips coming closer to mine, "because I still love you after all these years."

Shock seized me first, the butterflies shredding me to pieces. Then he grabbed my face and kissed me, hard.  His lips devoured mine as our mouths pressed against each other in a painful frenzy.   It was fire itself, our tongues and lips fanning the flames, our teeth nipping each other like sparks.   I ran my hands up and down the back of his head, over his shoulders and back, pulling him to me; I couldn't get close enough.

This Girl was so butterflying amazing.  It was difficult for me to write a review that was worthy of such a spectacular book.

This weeks swoon is a long one but it is oooOOOooohhh so worth it.  This is Will and Lake's first kiss from Will's point of view, and I don't believe there has ever been a more swoonworthy a moment to share.  I have so much love for these characters.

My review for This Girl will be posted a little bit later today, so be sure to come back and check it out!

I suddenly don't care where we are or who might be watching us. I have to kiss her. I have to.

I take her face in my hands and lean in closer, ignoring the part of my conscience that is screaming for me to wait. She closes her eyes, inviting me in. I hesitate, but as soon as I feel her breath fall on my lips, I can't hold back. I close the gap between us, lightly pressing my lips against her bottom lip. It's even softer than it looks. Somehow the background noise has completly faded and all I can hear is the sound of my own heartbeat, pulsating throughout my entire body. I slowly move my lips up to her top lip, but as soon as I feel my mouth beging to part, I reluctantly pull away. As much as I want to kiss her with everything I've got, I'm also vaguely aware that we're in public, and I've got at least two students here tonight. I decide to save the better kiss for later, because if we do this right now, I know I won't want to stop.

"Patience," I whisper, mustering up all the self-control I've got. I stroke her cheek with my thumb and she smiles at me in understanding. Still holding her face in my hands, I close my eyes again and press my lips against her cheek. She sucks in a breath as I release my hold and slide my hands down her arms, trying to remember how to breathe again. I'm unable to pull away from her, so I press my forehead against hers and open my eyes. It's in this moment that I know she's feeling exactly what I'm feeling. I can see it in her eyes.

"Wow," she exhales.

"Yeah," I agree. "Wow."

Holy cow... Woods has got to be one of the hottest male characters I have ever, and I mean EVER read about.  I really liked him before but this book absolutely blew me away.  I can not suggest Twisted Perfection enough, it was amazing.

Woods set his glass down on the table on the other side of his chair but didn't take his eyes off of me.

"I'd planned to be good tonight.  But I can't.  Not with you looking at me like that," Woods said as he took the glass from my hand and put it down beside his.

"I think I'll be okay if I can just have a little.  Just a small taste.  It's been too long and I can't seem to think about anything other than how much I want to kiss you," he brushed his finger over my lips.  "and the many parts of you I want to touch," he said slipping one of his hands around my waist.
