YAY! I am so excited to be featured this week.
I want to thank Alison Can Read and Parajunkee for the opportunity.

When did you start blogging?

I started my blog, Rainy Day Reads, in August 2012.  I had been reading like a mad woman prior to that, but only really writing smaller reviews.  I started to see other book bloggers on Goodreads, and decided it would be a lot of fun to join in.

What is your favorite part of book blogging?

The answer will always be, the people.  I am lucky enough to have good friends at work who love reading, so I do get to talk about a lot of books with them.  But, I have got to know so many more fellow book lovers through my blog.  It is amazing to be able to talk about all of the wonderful books we love.  I have also found so many awesome books that I would have never found if not for my blog, and fellow bloggers.  That is priceless.

What type of books do you mainly blog about?

I love all kinds of books, however as of late I am really enjoying contemporary romance.  Doesn't matter if it is Young Adult, New Adult or Adult... I am loving them all.  I also have some of my favorite Paranormal books, but those are mostly from series that I've already started.  I haven't started a new Paranormal series in a while.

What is your favorite book(s)?

Is this a serious question?  How long do you have? Cause I could go on for a long, long time...

I think I will narrow them down by my favorites of 2013 so far.  Flat-Out Love by Jessica Park, I simply adored this book!  But I have also loved This Girl by Colleen Hoover, Leo by Mia Sheridan, Love Love by Beth Michele, Consequences by Aleatha Romig, The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin, Twisted Perfection by Abbi Glines, Wait For You by Jennifer L. Armentrout, Tangled by Emma Chase... honestly I could go on and on.  I best stop there.

What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?

Again, this is such a tough question!  So many completely awesome things have happened since I started my blog.  I have always had a weekly feature called Book Blogger Spotlight, but recently I started one for authors, called Author Spotlight.  I sent out about 15 eMails to some of my favorite authors, requesting interviews and they all responded yes.  This was a very special moment for me,  I sent out so many at once because I didn't think very many would be able to take the time to answer my questions.

Also, in that same weekend, I was given an early copy of Left Drowning by Jessica Park, and an early copy of Losing Hope by Colleen Hoover.  I was flabbergasted.  Honestly, that had to be the best weekend since becoming a blogger.

Q: Have you broken up with a series? If so which one and why?

A: Can we maybe say that we are on a break?  Rather than fully broken up?  I'm not sure why I didn't carry on after Beautiful Darkness.  I know I want to someday go back to the series, I was enjoying it... but I felt it was starting to drag a little, and I needed something with a bit more pace.  So yeah, the Caster Chronicles and I are on a break, but one day, maybe with a little couples counselling... we will be reunited.

So... what about you? What is your answer?

Q: Write a letter to a favorite character.  Rant, rave or gush… just pretend like they are real and you just want to let them know a "few things".

Dear Tony,

I forgive you and I love you.

With all my heart,
Christine x

Q: What is the first thing you would do if you woke up to find yourself in your favorite book?

A: Hhhmmmm the hardest part of this question is picking my favorite book! And since there are too many to pick just one I will go with a recent favorite, The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer.

The first thing I would do? Go find Noah Shaw and make him love me! (sorry Mara but he is all mine...)

Q: What New Years blogging or writing resolution have you placed on yourself?

A: I only started my blog in August 2012 so I have been around less than six months and I feel like I am still getting the hang of everything.  However, this year I would like to get involved in more Blog Tours and Giveaways.  I think this would be a great way of meeting new bloggers and being able to give something back to everybody through the giveaways.  I also want to work on commenting more.  I love nothing more than getting and reading all of the comments that people leave for me and I feel like dirt when I'm too busy to respond back.  I will work on this!!

Q: What is the last book that made you cry?  Tell us about the scene...

A: The scene?!  Am I allowed to say the whole book?  Well that would be a tiny exaggeration but you get the idea.  The Sea of Tranquility was easily one of my favorite books of 2012.  I had tears of joy, sadness and laughter.  In the end there is so much emotion that it is practically dripping from each page.

I would strongly suggest this book to anybody and in fact two of my friends are reading it right now because I told them how much they will love it.

Honestly, don't wait... go to Goodreads and add it to your TBR list and have it be your next book. You will not regret the decision.

Q:  Who do you want to be? If you could choose any character from a book. What do you think that character looks like and what do you have in common?

A:  Simple, I want to be Kat from the Lux Series!  Why?  Simple again, Daemon.  How could you not be jealous of her for that reason alone?

What does she look like? Exactly how she appears on the cover.  These cover models, Pepe Toth and Sztella Tziotziosz, could not have been chosen any better.  This is exactly how I picture Daemon and Kat and even the author has said they fit the description in her head from when she first started writing the series.

What do we have in common?  We are both book bloggers!  I have been asked before if I started my blog because of Kat's character and the answer to that would be no.  I started Rainy Day Reads shortly before discovering this series... in fact it was probably because of this blog that I found them and so many other wonderful books that I had never heard of before.  Although I hope Kat being a book obsessed blogger opens up the idea to those reading it to also blog about their love of books.  This is a great community to be a part of and there are some really wonderful people out there to get to know... the more the merrier I say!

Q: Activity! Who is your to-die-for book crush? What do you think they look like? Add an image to make us all happy.

A: Well... I have a lot of fictional boyfriends but I must say that the one that will always top my list is Jericho Barrons from the from the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning.  I love him!  Dark, secretive, pushy, arrogant... but can also be sweet and gentle.  Well... maybe Barrons can't 'do' gentle but that's okay.

“I was about to look away when he reached across the seat, touched my jaw with his long, strong, beautiful fingers, and caressed my face.  Being touched by Jericho Barrons with kindness makes you feel like you must be the most special person in the world. It’s like walking up to the biggest, most savage lion in the jungle, lying down, placing your head it its mouth and, rather than taking your life, it licks you and purrs.”

I imagine him to be tall dark and full of muscles, therefore Joe Maganiello would fit the bill perfectly.  Just add a bunch of tattoos and he could step into the role.

“See me when you look at me.”

Q: What blog are you thankful for?

A: There are SO many bloggers that I follow religiously and love but my pick this week is Joie de Lire!  Not only does Joie have a terrific taste in books (as in if she reads it and loves it then it will usually end up on my TBR list) but she is also one of the sweetest people.  Perfect example of how sweet she can be, check out her post titled 'Why I Love YA'.

She was also my first Book Blogger Spotlight and that alone will hold a special place in my heart.

Oh and another special bond we share, Kami and Jared!  It is pretty obvious that if Sarah Rees Brennan doesn't have these two get together at the end of The Lynburn Legacy series...  Well let's just say I know she and I will be tracking down Brennan together to convince her to write a new ending.

So in other words... Joie rocks and I would strongly suggest you go check out her blog and follow, follow, follow!

Q: Books are turned into movies all the time! Turn it around. What movie would make a great book?

A: What a tough question! All the great movies I keep thinking about have all come from books already.  I think I would have to go with one of my two favorite Meg Ryan movies, When Harry Met Sally... or Sleepless in Seattle.  These would make for some great romantic reading.  In fact her movie You've Got Mail would be just as great because of all of the cute eMails back and forth.

If any of these actually do come from a book please can somebody let me know because I would be delighted to read them.

Q: Do you mind books with similar ideas to other books? Similar concepts, backgrounds, retellings or pulled-to-publish fanfic?

A: I would have to say as a fan of the Young Adult and Paranormal genres the answer would have to be no.  I mean I don't want the same story over and over and over again.  But you tend to get a lot of books about the same overall subject and ideas.

Of course within that you can see how each author takes their own spin on the subject matter so every book, even though it is created off of the same similar idea, is still different.

I have the perfect example... Take Beautiful Disaster and Easy.

These are the two most similar books I can think of but I absolutely, wholeheartedly love them both in their own ways.  And when I say love... I mean LOVE a lot!

So there is no way I could answer this question with a 'No' and still love these two books!  And I couldn't imagine not having these two books so I am happy that there are books with similar ideas and concepts.

So... what about you?  What is your answer?

Q: What is a deal breaker for you in a book? For example, do you abhor love triangles? Or can't deal with bad editing?

A: To be honest I really don't have any absolute deal breakers!  I tend to only start books that I know I have a good chance of enjoying.  Meaning they are in the genre I enjoy and I have normally seen them around or talked about as an upcoming release.

However if I had to pick one thing... maybe it would be a love triangle?  It is not that I hate them but lately I have found myself sighing a bit when I realise that there is going to be one.  I would never stop reading a book because of one and if well written they can be a lot of fun.

So... what is your deal breaker?  Do you have any?

Don't forget, if you are a new follower make sure to leave me your link so that I can follow you back.
