When did you start blogging?
I started my blog, Rainy Day Reads, in August 2012. I had been reading like a mad woman prior to that, but only really writing smaller reviews. I started to see other book bloggers on Goodreads, and decided it would be a lot of fun to join in.
What is your favorite part of book blogging?
The answer will always be, the people. I am lucky enough to have good friends at work who love reading, so I do get to talk about a lot of books with them. But, I have got to know so many more fellow book lovers through my blog. It is amazing to be able to talk about all of the wonderful books we love. I have also found so many awesome books that I would have never found if not for my blog, and fellow bloggers. That is priceless.
What type of books do you mainly blog about?
I love all kinds of books, however as of late I am really enjoying contemporary romance. Doesn't matter if it is Young Adult, New Adult or Adult... I am loving them all. I also have some of my favorite Paranormal books, but those are mostly from series that I've already started. I haven't started a new Paranormal series in a while.
What is your favorite book(s)?
Is this a serious question? How long do you have? Cause I could go on for a long, long time...
I think I will narrow them down by my favorites of 2013 so far. Flat-Out Love by Jessica Park, I simply adored this book! But I have also loved This Girl by Colleen Hoover, Leo by Mia Sheridan, Love Love by Beth Michele, Consequences by Aleatha Romig, The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin, Twisted Perfection by Abbi Glines, Wait For You by Jennifer L. Armentrout, Tangled by Emma Chase... honestly I could go on and on. I best stop there.
What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?
Again, this is such a tough question! So many completely awesome things have happened since I started my blog. I have always had a weekly feature called Book Blogger Spotlight, but recently I started one for authors, called Author Spotlight. I sent out about 15 eMails to some of my favorite authors, requesting interviews and they all responded yes. This was a very special moment for me, I sent out so many at once because I didn't think very many would be able to take the time to answer my questions.
Also, in that same weekend, I was given an early copy of Left Drowning by Jessica Park, and an early copy of Losing Hope by Colleen Hoover. I was flabbergasted. Honestly, that had to be the best weekend since becoming a blogger.

Q: Have you broken up with a series? If so which one and why?
A: Can we maybe say that we are on a break? Rather than fully broken up? I'm not sure why I didn't carry on after Beautiful Darkness. I know I want to someday go back to the series, I was enjoying it... but I felt it was starting to drag a little, and I needed something with a bit more pace. So yeah, the Caster Chronicles and I are on a break, but one day, maybe with a little couples counselling... we will be reunited.
Feel free to leave your links below so that I can check them out and if you are a new follower be sure to let me know so that I can come and check out your blog in return!
Haven't read that series. Sorry you are on a break Absents does makes the heart grow fonder :)

I read Beautiful Creatures and didn't feel a strong desire to continue the series. Maybe someday but my tbr is filled with too many books I desperately want to read.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being featured. I have Beautiful Creatures on my TBR list. Not sure when I will start it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday:)

Congrats on the feature! I've read the first Beautiful Creatures book and really liked it. I hope to finish the series later this fall. Great answer. Old follower here.

Hopping through. Congrats on being featured! I love the Caster Chronicles series but I thought the first two were the best. The first time I read Beautiful Darkness I didn't like it that much, but I reread it before the third book came out and fell in love with it.

Congrats on being featured!! I just started Beautiful Creatures and am trying to stay with it. Im only on chapter two lol, but it is so dry so far.

I haven't read this series yet, but I have the movie on my library wait list. You're at 78 books for your 2013 Goodreads reading challenge, holy goodness! I'm at 16 and ahead of schedule. I followed via NetworkedBlogs. Happy Friday! Here's my FF.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you haven't given up hope for reuniting with your break-up series. I may consider a reconciliation with my break-up one day, myself - LOL. Read about it at my F&F.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is absolutely fabulous! Congrats on being the FEATURE! New follower, by GFC, Bloglovin' and Twitter.
I liked Beautiful Creatures, but I haven't read anymore past that. It was good, but I wasn't crazy about it or desperate enough to want to know what came next,so I've also held off.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being featured this week!

It's hard to completely break up with a series, especially when you enjoy the first book. But I find a lot of series start to drag, like perhaps there should have been less books in the series.
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to start this series, but something tells me I might get bored with them.

First of all, congratulations on being featured :) That is so awesome!! I totally agree with the Caster Chronicles! I read Beautiful creatures and purchased Beautiful Darkness but have yet to read it.
ReplyDeleteAmber @Nala's Book Corner
Congrats on the feature!
ReplyDeleteOoo, I've got Caster Chronicles in my post too.. I have read only only Beautiful Creatures yet, and though I enjoyed the idea behind the magic and the characters it was more the way the story headed and the romance that got me down.
I've heard Beautiful Darkness is better but till then I've got a big list of books I'd rather read.
Do stop by <a href="http://thesmellofparchment.blogspot.in/2013/06/feature-follow-friday-15.html>my FF</a>. New follower via twitter :)

Hi!! New follower here.
ReplyDeleteI really love contemporary romance rn too. And it's funny that you're doing a new Author Spotlight feature because I decided to do something like that earlier this year only with bloggers, authors, and readers. It's really awesome that someone else is going it too. :) If you're interested in following back here's my link: Vicariously!
